Checkout Now on Instagram!

Instagram announced a big win for online retailers and ecommerce brands today, unveiling a checkout feature that will make it possible for buyers to purchase items directly in-app—all without leaving the platform.

With new shopping features, tapping a business’s product post will show you a “Checkout on Instagram” button. Once you select options like size or color, you’ll be able to proceed to payment and billing. According to Instagram’s announcement, shoppers will only need to enter their “name, email, billing information and shipping address” the first time they check out—after that, billing and shipping information will be securely saved for future purchases. Order confirmations, shipping notifications, and tracking information will all be accessible in Instagram, too. Pinch us, we’re dreaming.

While Instagram Checkout’s still in beta testing with a small group of businesses, the platform says it expects a full rollout over the coming weeks. Until then, shoppers can try out Instagram Checkout with these brands:
